So I was today years old when I learned that Robert Palmer wrote "Addicted to Love" as a duet with Chaka Khan. She actually recorded her vocals on the song. But her record company would not allow her to be on the record.

So Palmer went back and re-recorded the song's higher parts himself. The song would be Palmer's only #1 song in the US on May 3, 1986. But it also won Best Male Video at the MTV VMAs despite feminist's objections.

Chaka was a good luck charm, though because she did appear on Steve Winwood's "Higher Love," which beat "Addicted to Love" for 1987 Record of the Year at the Grammy's.

I'd love to hear the duet with Chaka and Robert on "Addicted to Love."

They are crazy.They prevented their artist from being part of a #1 pop hit.Their claims of over-saturating the market is bullshit.It's not as if Chaka was putting out new music every few weeks
