Robert Palmer - Addicted to Love... a duet? So I was today years old when I learned that Robert Palmer wrote "Addicted to Love" as a duet with Chaka Khan. She actually recorded her vocals on the song. But her record company would not allow her to be on the record. If you have a problem with me, text me. Warner Brothers and her manager Burt Zell claimed she would over saturate the market with the duet and "Destiny" but they released "Destiny" with almost zero promotion as well as not targeting it to Pop/Rock radio where it belonged. Other factors that kept the album at bay that I wont go into. But Can you imagine someone telling Beyonce they dont want her over saturating the market? They would be fired on the spot! Exactly. But "Destiny" still did better than 'C.K." which WB did ZERO promotion. I never heard "Its My Party" on the radio. The album had been out for over a month before I was even aware of it. Disgruntled with the industry, she left the states and move to Europe after that. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

They are crazy. They prevented their artist from being part of a #1 pop hit.Their claims of over-saturating the market is bullshit. It's not as if Chaka was putting out new music every few weeks | |
