That list is just opinion and I'm surprised Chaka ranked as high as she did because I've seen a lot of these types of list where Chaka was ranked a lot lower or didn't appear on the list at all. I love Chaka, she is my musical mother. But she has exhibited some strange behavior over the past several years. People still accuse her of being under the influence. I have no idea whether she is or not. But things like this interview, her Verzuz performance, her rendition of the national anthem a couple years ago and some other recent performances where she appeared lethargic don't exactly put her in a good light.

I can look at this in two ways.

On the one hand,Chaka has always been the type of woman who speaks her mind it's one of the reasons we love her so much.She tells it like it is! It's what makes her interviews so much fun to read.

On the other hand....you gotta feel bad for some of these ladies.A few of them were clearly inspired by Chaka and they love her.Can you imagine how Mary J. Blige must feel after reading these comments? Your childhood idol talking shit about you?!

I totally agree.Old school artists should,every so often,just release an EP containing a few tracks.A little treat for their fans.What's the point in releasing a full album? We know it's not gonna get alot of promotion.The singles won't get played on the radio.Why go through all that hard work for nothing? Stevie Nicks expressed this same point of view,when explaining why there probably won't ever be another Fleetwood Mac album.

Chaka(whom an "industry aqquantance" said was the hold up to a certain Prince(r.i.p.) documentary because of her foggy memory) I hope has dealt with her "issues". I would hate to see anything bad happen to one of my favorite female singers.

BTW: I LOVE her new single "Woman Like Me" that was played in rotation on Stevie Wonder's Radio station KJLH in the beautiful "LAnD Of MANY StARs WiTh oNlY OnE Mo0N".

Its always funny to speak your mind and then issue an apology in the next breath. I mean these "lists" are nonsense anyway, especially now when you have "wokesters" working at the magazines and they want to be all inclusive and recognize and make themselves look morally over others, this is how it is, 99% of these lists are just "did we get any from this in, did we get this type a person in, etc..." As for CHAKA she is that rambling relative at thanksgiving that no one hears from till the holiday dinner.
