R.I.P. Loretta Lynn

Loretta Lynn, America's groundbreaking country titan whose frank lyricism delving into women's experiences with sex, infidelity and pregnancy touched the nerve of a nation, has passed on. She was 90 years old. Rest In Power Loretta Lynn.

Let it be known there would be no Beyonce, Madonna, Janet, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benetar, Deborah Harry, Sheryl Crow, or damn near anyone if it weren't for Loretta Lynn.

What an amazing singing career and life. She stayed with her husband even though he was abusive to her. She was once asked, "why did you stay with him?"

She said, "Because I loved him. He hit me once, I hit him twice. And he knew it." Well - that aside, rest in peace, Loretta.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
