so did I miss something? I mean, I thought those new mixes (frozen/material girl) would be on this set. are they part of a different set yet to come? or are they just one off releases?

Those are one-off releases that were never intended for this set.

I listened through the whole release this weekend. I never heard most of the dance remixes before, so i am really glad to have them now. Perhaps the biggest surprise to me is how well th cuts from the albums released after her commercial peak (e.g., her post Music albums). These occupy the latter half of the release, and there is absolutely no decline in overall quality. I think many of her releases during that later period were either already dance songs or easilty translated to a dance song. For me, the newer songs, unlike the dance remixes of the older songs, don't compete with the iconic singles versions of the song.

Although I agree with you on the earlier iconic songs, at least on the 2 LP release, I still enjoy the remixes of classics and think the 2 LP release sounds solid as a whole and I'm pleasantly suprised at the newer songs. I'm finally now able to give a proper listen to it in it's entirety now that I'm finally work-free. LOL Listening for the second proper listening experience now...with a beer in hand. Yeah, well I do take breaks. Dancing the hell off to the new re-mix album. Yet another livingroom concert. LOL I enjoyed the two LP set so much I actually ordered Madonna's "Like A Prayer" on vinyl LP for the first time (even though I have it on CD). Just because I want to hear it as a worm ear on vinyl to get me stoked up for life again. After getting a (now) clean bill of health after skin cancer surgery. Got all my new bucket hats and tons of sun block lotion ready for the one and only Iron Maiden show next month. But, tonight I'm enjoying Madonna's new album and looking forward to hearing her "Like A Prayer' on vinyl for the first time. Having so much fun with this 50-song set.Like Madonna said,it’s a trip down memory lane. It’s also making me want to pull out some of those old albums.

I still think it’s ridiculous that she left off “Causing A Commotion” ( a Number One dance hit in 1987).

Love both of those songs. It is surprising she left it off. I wonder if she's not a fan of it. I haven't bought the album but I am curious about it.

One song I miss not being in this collection is Borderline. I was not a fan of Madonna until her 3rd album, but Borderline was the first song that got my attention. It was her first US top 10 hit, and eventually reached #4 on the dance charts. So, it didn't quite make the cut. It says a lot that she had 50 bigger dance hits than Borderline.

The general consensus is “Angel” and “Causing A Commotion” were planned to be included but were replaced by the You Can Dance edits of “Everybody” and “Physical Attraction.” Seeing as Madonna curated the track list, it’s pretty safe to assume she removed those two tracks as she either doesn’t like them or simply prefers the two she put on the album. I got my clear vinyl copy yesterday as my 6LP box set has been delayed. I have a few remixes I would have preferred in there but it’s great to see her acknowledge her accomplishments for once and out together a great compilation. 3121... Don't U Wanna Come?

If you guys have 20 minutes to kill, Madonna and Stuart Price are on the new episode of the podcast "Song Exploder" talking about Hung Up. Its nice to hear her just talk music. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

A couple of comments:
Although it was good to here in chronocological order in that it gave a picture of the evolution of her dance music, I have been enjoying it much more on random play, as it seems to prevent monotony from sinking in: Every song is a surprise!
I can't imagine a mix that could destroy the celestial feel to Ray of Light any more than this one. Especially the early part, you might as well mix the song by adding dump truck noises.
I always thought Love Profusion should have been a big radio hit, so great to have it here.

Thank you, Amazon for fucking up my delivery of Madonna's "Like A Prayer" 180 gram LP by sending it in a big fucking box with no padding, denting the corners of the cover, and having three ripped sides on the sleeve... And then issuing a full refund and letting me keep the album. First time I've heard this on vinyl--terrific remaster IMO. The Prince duet sounds more like a dampened down Prince song, of course. The red vinyl Walmart exclusive has been “delayed” Thank God for Spotify.I’ve been able to stream it and enjoy it these past few days. But it sucks when the physical copies you pre-ordered take forever to arrive

A week or longer... is that forever to you? lol Impatient fans it seems. Why not demand to be in the recording studio while it is created? Just joking of course. Is there any kind of equivalent of Princevault for Madonna? I'm having a hard time finding good info online about different edits and mixes, particularly for some of her (excellent) early demos. Honestly I'd love to see a remastered Virgin Tour Live bluray with the cut songs from the setlist restored, especially since she's never really performed Angel live since, and the bootleg's quality is a bit dodgy.
