Madonna "Who's that girl" soundtrack

Iam only a casual fan of her's, but this is a fun, solid, oh so 80's OST.

album_who-s-that-girl_l.jpg

  1. Madonna - Who's That Girl
  2. Madonna - Causing A Commotion
  3. Madonna - The Look Of Love
  4. Duncan Faure - 24 Hours
  5. Club Nouveau - Step By Step
  6. Michael Davidson - Turn It Up
  7. Scritti Politti - Best Thing Ever
  8. Madonna - Can't Stop
  9. Coati Mundi - El Coco Loco (So So Bad)

The 4 Madonna songs are all decent. "Causing a commotion" is a track I wish they would play more on radio as it's super catchy and hooky. I have a soft spot for "Can't stop". It's a very simplstic, typical 80's Madonna fodder, but it's so upbeat and fun LOL and I love the vocoder or whatever is used near the end haha.

"The look of love" sounds amazing production wise but does sound a tad unfinished, but is interesting as I love her work with Patrick Leonard.

What do Madonna fans think of this album? I also like Club Nouveau's ultra dated "Step by Step" and Coati Mundi's track "El Coco Loco (So So Bad)" (if only it were abit shorter)....

..as 80's soundtracks go, its pretty decent all the way through and very upbeat and fun, which I guess fits in with the movie that I have never seen LOL...

I re-sequenced True Blue and added some of these songs into it.

True Blue (ReVisited)

Side A
Papa Don't Preach

Open Your Heart

White Heat

True Blue

Causing A Commotion

Side B

Spotlight

Live To Tell

La Isla Bonita

Who's That Girl

Where's The Party

I should really go revisit those other songs. I don't really know them.

I love Madonna's songs on this soundtrack, but don't care for the others. Also I've never actually watched the full movie; I tried watching it once but only got through the first 10 minutes before stopping because I kept cringing so damn much lol.

I actually took "Spotlight" off You Can Dance and added a simple fade to it. I could probably put the single mix in there or something, just for the sake of time.

I have an extended verison too, where I use all extended mixes, if available. It's... well, it's a journey.

I cobbled it together with what I had lol and I like it. Good sequence. I'll return to that more than to either True Blue or the soundtrack on their own.

Yeah, I made a cover for it and put it on my phone. It's the only version of True Blue I listen to. I can't stand those other two songs on TB. They're vapid filler.

I'm still going to revisit the other two Who's That Girl songs and see if I wanna fit them in. Although, these 10 songs as-is sound pretty good.

I pull the DVD out and watch it once in awhile. It’s a fun,yet silly 80s movie. One critic summed it up like this: “Madonna is not the worst thing in it,but that’s not saying much” biggrin I actually enjoy it more than ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’.

I could never get into that movie. There was so much talk around it with it being her debut and such. But I found it boring as hell.

Who's That Girl is a farce at best, and campy to the hilt. It's overdone and dorky. The tour, however, was pretty fantastic. I saw it at Veteran's Stadium in Philadelphia on July 11, 1987. Level 42 opened. It was amazing.

"The Look Of Love" is one of my faves, especially the live version on Ciao Italia... her vocals were so strong.
