Scary Music

Have you ever heard a song and it just scares ya?

It could be the chords, the lyrics, the general feel of the song. Whatever. Some songs are meant to be moody, have atmosphere or whatever in them. So those don't fit the bill here. "Thriller" is a song about ghosts and monsters, but it's not particularly scary.

I have one song that popped up in my YouTube feed the other day. A band that performed on Fallon's older show. I thought, "Oh, not a fan of them, but I'll watch just to see it." I got 30 seconds in and thought, "Nope, not having any of that today, or ever."

I'll tell ya later what it was.

What song(s) did you ever hear that just shook you, made you wanna turn them off, run away, or never hear them again? And let's just assume "Wedding Feast," "Jughead," and like are already off the table.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I read the first part again and noticed the first two I picked don't fit the bill.

The scariest song I've ever heard however, is eminem's Kim. It's also the most disgusting song I've ever heard. Once and never again. It's not even art, it's just disgusting and I think she even cut her wrists because of it.

I remember as a child my uncle would play Pink Floyd : The Wall. The track with helicopters and sounds. That scared me lol

Back in 2003 or 2004 I bought a video game called "Silent Hill 3" it came with a soundtrack cd. By the way, Silent Hill is horror game, and yes there was a few movies made. anywho.. I gave the cd a listen in our surround sound. All I remember was it had some songs which I'd call weird, strange, scary, sounds. I'm sure someone out there might appreciate this music. But no thank you! 😂 I thought if you listen to this while in bed it might conjur up some nightmares. I believe this is a track from the CD.

I dont expect you all to click this, it's under 2 minutes. But 1 minute is enough 😂

I used to have "Freak Show" by The Residents on CD and it blew my adolescent mind. The one that lingers is "The Head". "I can't live forever in formaldehyde, he said"

Darling Nikki

I remember in college one of the guys in the dorm on our floor had Prince
Purple Rain album and another one of the guys told him about the end of Darling Nikki. We gathered in the room to hear the record played backwards and when we heard him say I know the Lord Is Coming man that spooked us. I never bought the album but have the cd. If I had the album I would have never even thought about playing that backwards. razz
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Flying Lotus's album You're Dead. I'm convinced that it was meant to pique the mind and disturb. The supporting videos helped this along tremendously!

Traumatized from childhood, Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells

Of course there's John Carpenter - HALLOWEEN Theme

Some work from the composer Richard Wagner is kind of intense

Black Sabbath's use the tritone (diabolus in musica) inspired from "Mars" by Gustav Holst gets a vote as well.
