This is the type of movie that I should love, but those trailers don't look very promising. That actress doesn't look or sound anything like Donna Summer! eek

I wanted to be excited about this film, but the trailers look weak. They couldn't even get the rights to use KISS' makeup designs. This is going to be like one of those old/sorry "made for VH-1" music movies. I was more interested when Timberlake was going to play Bogart. Kelly Rowland would have been perfect as Donna Summer.

Yeah this is my problem with BIOPIC's in this case you had to know there was no way they were going to get rights to stuff, KISS owns and oversees everything, so right there I knew, now a lot of others here probably don't own rights to some of their stuff so its going to be like one of those REELZ reinactments with a bigger budget. My guess is the soundtrack might be a big thing again depending on rights and what you get, you wont see any KISS that's for sure they don't do business like that, the others might not really have a say.

I feel the same way.Kelly would have been perfect as Donna Summer. The Casablanca Records story is very interesting. It’s a great story to tell. But so far,I’m not too excited about this film. We’ll see.

It's too bad that this movie wasn't made years ago, when Justin Timberlake was attached to it.The budget would have,no doubt, been bigger. These trailers look cheap confused

I agree with you Soul. It seems that this movie had so many starts and stops with budgeting and licensing. After a while, the movie plan stalled, stopped and looked like the plans fell through.. They resurrected the idea a few years ago, but covid shut everything down. I was really surprised to see the trailer earlier this month. I'd rather see a film on all of the craziness/behind the scenes stuff at Casablanca Records.

honestly,I wish they would just do a movie strictly about the disco era biggrin make it like a combination of Saturday Night Fever/Thank God It’s Friday/54/ and Boogie Nights lol it should be set in the summer of ‘78.I would love that!

speaking of Casablanca Records.....who remembers when you would buy an album on that label and you'd get a merchandise order form/insert like this? lol

An order form for Donna Summer and Parliament merch issued by Casablanca Records in 1976. Found inside an old copy of Clones of Dr. Funkenstein by Parliament. I would kill for either/both of these Parliament items.
