I am prone to Silk Sonic's version. The richness of the recording is just very appealing, it sounds deluxe. Plus I enjoy the singing better. And it got the horn section.

The original is great though as well, I might start to like it better when I get more used to it.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Michael Cooper & Felton Pilate speak about Silk Sonic's remake here

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

ConFunkShun for sure

While Silk Sonic's version is just okay to me. I like their own music better than the

Love Train cover. The group that has done ConFunkShun the most justice is LoKey's 1992

smash I Got A Thang 4 ya.

Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Yeah it's the original for me.

The original was smooth like butter.

The remake is chunky like a Butterfinger.

Plus it's not different enough to matter, while the changes it does make are to its detriment.

I liken it to that cover of "Africa" Weezer did.
