Lil Sweet 2022 commercial

Like the Dr. Pepper Lil Sweet guy or not… I can’t help but smile at the late January/early February 2022 nfl footbal-centric campaign. The number on lil sweets jersey is 23. 23. No way is that a coincidence. It’s a great tip of the hat from the production team. IMHO, that is some deep purple funk reference to Gett Off. Love it.

Lil Sweet is Justin Guarini, the runner up from the first season of American Idol. He and Kelly Clarkson were the two finalists.

It's a reference for you. No one at Dr. Pepper is trying to deep dive into a random Prince track, pull a number, and put it in an ad.

Of course, people see what they want in the world, regardless of the truth. And that's their reward.

FOR THE RECORD: Dr. Pepper has 23 flavors in its recipe. So there's your reference.

Maybe if the jersey said 7. Not 23. Unless Lil Sweet wore assless pants. Then maybe you got a case.

SPYZFAN1	Justin got himself a good running gig (or gag) with those commercials. The boyfriends in the ads are the funny ones..Lil Sweet practically steals their girlfriends and they're too stupid to even realize it.
