Does Pearl Jam exist?

His new solo album is excellent. The funny thing is that the last two Pearl Jam albums for me were the best, but early fans really don't like newer stuff they feel Eddie has softened and mellowed, damn can't anyone not be angry all the time or screaming, the man is 57 now not in his early twenties like he was when those first records were coming out, it's called growing up and maturing. Not sure why people can't comprehend how you are not the same person at 57 that you were then, and if you are you better get some serious therapy. Also this is why I get annoyed when people bitch how their artists can't get new stuff played on the radio, well you walking around in a purple rain t shirt all faded is part of it.

I'm not really sure on that. But this current lineup is pretty freakin great. It's Chad and Josh (formerly) of the RHCP, now a touring member of Pearl Jam. Chris Chaney on bass from Jane's Addiction and NHC (Dave Navarro, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Chaney). Glen Hansard, who has done a million things but is best known for that Falling Slowly song from the movie Once that has never gone away for the last, like, 15 years or something. The only guy I don't really know much about is Andrew Watt (the guitar soloing guy), who is apparently A producer and THE producer of the Eddie Vedder album they're touring behind ( https://en.wikipedia.org/..._producer) ).

Yes yes. Still one of the best live bands on the planet. They have a huge European tour (mostly soldout) booked for this Summer with a bunch of Covid postponed US shows coming after that. https://pearljam.com/tour They haven't been fast with their albums for a while now, but yeah, very much still exist.

I think all PJ albums are objectively good. And not in an all Prince albums are objectively good kind of way. I love my guy, way more than PJ, but his recorded output has some weak points. That being said, some PJ albums are great, or even classic. Personally, I thought Gigaton was the best thing they've done in a few albums. It's certainly the most adventerous/risk taking album they've released in a good long while. Some PJ albums have always taken a while to grab hold though. Gigaton also suffered a LOT from being released in March, 2020. I've said elsewhere on the internet that I think Gigaton is pretty easily the major release that suffered most from the Covid shutdown. The world literally stopped right as they were releasing the album. They barely promoted it, couldn't tour behind it and didn't make a stink about any of it because they're PJ. If they had been able to spend all of 2020 promoting that album I think it would be viewed differently. It's also an album that needs to be listened to as an album, which is another hill to climb for artists who actually want to make albums in 2020. I won't be surprised if they don't hurry to put out a new album though. Because they are getting older and a lot of people don't seem to care so much about new music when they play 25-30 different songs live every night.

Having said all that lol yeah, agree. There will always be some people who will never let their favorite artists grow up, always wanting them to be who they were when they most loved and related to them. This is a thing many of us have witnessed first hand.

Yeah I was recently watching a Youtuber do a review of "earthling" and it was about a seven minute video, and the first four minutes talked about "Ten" and "Vitalogy" and then just went on to say how he had "High hopes" for the album, and he listened to it twice and it was good that was it. I mean everyone is entitled to an opinion but when you spend 75% of a review of a new album talking about past albums for thirty years ago, and then have no mention of anything on the new album, why did you even bother review and make a video about it? And i get it those are classics etc...and now eddie is older, well yeah, hes going to be 58, hes married with kids, hes not still climbing and stage diving sorry.

Watched this song by song break down of this new album with Bruce Springsteen and it made me want the album. Interesting because of the process in making the album and it's guests, including Stevie Wonder.
