How Prince and MJ Portrayed and Viewed Women

As I'm watching a video about MJ's Dangerous album (from the detail) on YouTube, they mentioned the title track, a song about a woman that is just beyond.

They mentioned other songs about dangerous women. "Dirty Diana," "Billie Jean," being a couple. MJ was either romantic or he was warning folks about women.

And while Prince warned about people like "Shockadelica" or "Annie Christian" (the latter being a larger euphemism of social commentary), Prince did seem to have a different view of women in his music. Prince, in a helpless situation, always had the woman in charge. He pleaded for sex, he didn't just take it.

MJ didn't take it, but he often seemed to put women in a role of doing something bad. It's not just a broken relationship, it's someone at the backstage door, accusing him of fathering a children, or simply existing and that she's "no damn good for me."

Can you see other examples between the two mega stars and their views of women. I don't think either hated women, nor wanted to hurt women with violence. Their views in music certainly varied sometimes. Was there that much of a divide between their views, or are the songs noted above just equal examples of the same thing?

I've also noticed how MJ seemed to follow a trope in his band, always having the young, punky guitarist, and maybe a highlighted background singer, both of whom were female. But 99% of the time, MJ had male backup singers, male band, and male dancers.

Prince, on the other hand, had a band of women, or heavily female-populated bands, male and female backup singers and dancers. Do you think their above spectulated views played into how they surrounded themselves with other artists for tours and performances?

It was Sherylin Fenn, in 1985, when Prince visited MJ. I think it's thT day they played ping-pong.

IIRC, they talked about silent movies, as Fenn was supposed to star in a film about Clara Bow. MJ was a well-known huge fan of Chaplin.

The YouTube comment wrote that Prince was clowned in front of his girl and that she left him for MJ. Something like that.

Bob George, Cindy C, Dinner With Delores, 1+1+1=3, She Loves Me 4 Me, Irresistible Bitch, Wonderful Ass, they all either overtly or covertly diss women. Prince was a lyricist so he could be sneaky or clever about these things.

Interesting. I’ve heard Prince being referred to as both sexual and asexual by different people. I guess it depends on the person.🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m going to base my opinion on two songs%: Lady In My Life by MJ and Do Me by Prince. When I hear Michael sing Lady In My Life, his voice exudes love, passion, slow love making, goose bumps, etc. When I hear Prince sing Do Me Baby, it’s all about sex. Wham Bam Thank You Ma’am. Lady In My Life makes me feel something that is unexplainable. 🤷🏽‍♀️🔥☺️🥰🤭

"Gett Off" was one of my favorite songs from: "Diamonds And Pearls" Album!

Of course, I was a teen a that time(that song)was played on the radio stations...

I thought "Gett Off" meant - "Leave Me Alone" or
"Mind Your Business" 🙂

I bought the Prince And The N.P G's: "Diamonds And Pearls" Cassette in 1992 when I was(16.5 Years Old).
