I appreciate his new regemin for making real and authentic artistic efforts out of his albums since Starboy. Not many r&b/pop artists will change the sound, style and feel of albums today and he makes sure to do just that. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

The question is will it be heavy on the illuminati symbolism this time?

Still listening. I was distracted by that whole live stream dj thing. I have a high tolerance for slow stuff but that s... was distracting. I will say "Take My Breathe" really comes alive on the album. I wouldn't be surprised if it rebounds.

I think the albums fantastic. It sounds like his bid for the spot of greatest 80's superstar not actually alive in the 1980s and he succeeds.
The opening run of tracks through to and including Sacrifice are pretty exhilarating. I then like how the Qunicy Jones interlude leads into a couple of early 80's QJ style RnB numbers. Also interesting that QJ talks about something so personal, when I saw he was on there I expected it would be him talking about producing MJ so that was interesting.
If I'm being picky the second half does sag a bit, I reckon he could've dropped a couple and added one more uptempo track in the realm of the first four tracks. I also think the the guerst versus from Tyler The Creator and Lil Wayne are unneccesary. They're not bad by any means but feel shoe horned in because it seems you can't have a big RnB record now without a couple of rappers on it.
These are minor complaints though. Its a great listen, beautiful production and real ear candy. Recommended.

I think take my breath is the best song on there. It was well done but will grow on me I think, cause I can’t fully get into it. I felt similarly with the silk sonic album and now I love it

I haven't listened to the whole album yet, but track 2 till 5 really deliver. This version with the longer intro of Take My Breath is much better.

What a great album. Just gets better on each listen. How the songs segue into each other like Donna Summer meets Daft Punk. Jim Carrey takes you on a journey through the sounds on an AM radio dial. The album is superb. Might just be giving a 4.5/5 for this release. Some minor eyerolling lyrical content but otherwise this is an album I want as a vinyl release. Havent wanted that since I picked up Lady Gaga's Chromatica.

Yes, the tracks are great and I like they use almost the same beat. Tts a bit like the first tracks of the Nude tour by Prince.
I love the radio interludes by Jim Carrey by the way!
Yes, this album gets better and better the more i listen to it.

Agreed. Too bad they broke up because they could have produced this whole album too. Sounds like an extended part of Random Access Memories at times Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I'm not sure yet. I like elements of it but as a whole it just sounds like 2 songs, 1 song that stretches in different variations for the first half of the record and then the second song for the latter half of the album.

He kind of had this thing on Art Official Age through the affirmations, where someone was announcing his transition to the other side. Dawn FM also recounts bringing the listener through purgatory. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
