Keep On Jumpin

One of my favorite late 90s dance track is Todd Terry's "Keep On Jumpin'" featuring Jocelyn Brown and Martha Wash. It's still a banger.

But I didn't know until today - when I was looking at Brown's discography on Wikipedia - that Brown was in a disco group called Musique and the had a #1 song in 1978 with "Keep On Jumpin'." (I knew Brown, like Wash, had been used on many, many projects throughout the years; she's always been active and working.)

So Todd Terry took it and remade it with Brown, adding Wash to the mix. The 1978 original is just as fun as the 1997 remake. And how awesome it must've been to twice have a #1 hit with the same song, twenty years apart, for Brown.

Wow I never knew does, I thought Todd Terry made the original. There are amazing remixes of this song, especially the rhythm masters remix

They rarely do a bad remix.

Actually, I remember buying this together with the 12" version of Dan Hartman's disco classic "Instant Replay".
