Man, I am sticking with the first Christmas album. I forgot she went through a divorce before buying this. Her lead single should have been a heads up but this is the most negative, "fuck you" while smiling in your face, weird Christmas album ever. Bad vibes!

I've heard a christmas song at the grocery store last week. Little drummer boy is all I know about it. The lead vocalist was not bad but there was a higher ( male?) voice in the background that was absolutely amazing. And I just can't find the damn version. I'd only listen to this song again for that voice in the background.

It sounds like it might be what you're looking for.

It's not but it's very similar. The version I heard is slower and sounds a bit darker and while Bowie's voice is high there, the other persons voice is more on the background and higher. The person is the background can also only be heard for a few seconds. So it's really just short background vocals. I wish I could describe it better. There's probably more than 100 versions of this song

It might be a cover because that piece on earth part was in it too, more in the background.

Just crazy about the ; Sufjan Stevens Christmas album James Brown 80s christmas The Moog machine Christmas Album And the worst christmas album ever, by the bling German 70s crooner, Heino Yes, I play them all.
This last album has a beautiful pop-up inner cover art... "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

I heard this album a lot over the years. Several relatives had it when I was little. A lot of it would get played on the radio. The Donny Hathaway song This Christmas & Feliz Navidad by José Feliciano was played a lot too. Even when it wasn't Christmas. A Christmas doesn't go by without hearing Silent Night by The Temptations over & over, especially on R&B radio. That's the 1980 version, not the 1 from the 1960s. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Why would you think New Edition's version is any less bubblegum? I like bubblegum music and have made threads about it here. The rest of the album, silly. "up on the rooftop chirp chirp chirp"

That reminds me of something. One of my favorite songs is Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep by the sibling group Mac & Katie Kissoon. It's not a Christmas song though You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Doable. Like these older christmas approach rather than Mariah Scary's shit sprinkle for 8y olds. James Brown even has a good Xmas album... Ella Fitzgerald too. I just listened to Lauren Daigle's Christmas Album. I've only come across her recently due to hearing her song Hold On To Me from a tv series I was watching. I liked her album. Nice clear simple jazzy sound, not over produced. Liked her raspy voice. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Yesterday, I played the 12" version of Christmas Rappin' (aka Rappin' Blow) by Kurtis Blow. I also listened to a couple of the local radio stations that play Christmas music 24 hours a day this time of year. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

It's not a real christmas song, but what a tremendous beautiful song this is... fits the month december so well ; - Naima Joris : ''Bellybutton'' - https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+naiima+joris+bellybuttnon&&view=detail&mid=4027D7EC6BA4FA2205C24027D7EC6BA4FA2205C2&&FORM=VDRVSR "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. I just discovered It's a Marshmallow World by Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. A really fun Christmas song! https://youtu.be/J2bvKojdln0 I love the old crooners Christmas albums over the new stuff.

What a coincidence. I put that 12'' up last week too (even cleaned the vinyl for once). Ooooh, i love that one ! But it barely has something to do with the spirit of christmas imho. But a damn good song. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)
