A little too many ballads but it is a good album! Just one more like 777 would been nice but I really liked the album and they did a great job!

Have the album on repeat.
And especially 'Fly Like Me' -> killer song, made me take my bass guitar and figure out the bass line.

Best album since Justin Timberlake's 20/20 album

And JT's 20/20 is about 100x longer than Silk Sonic, too. hahaha God, talk about a file dump.

I won't lie, it felt a bit bloated at times. Not cuz the songs were long, but that some weren't necessarily album-worthy. I think Part I was better than Part II. But Part II had great songs like "Take Back The Night."

In general, it was quite an offering overall. But it was far from disappointing. Some of the extended sections really went into something different and made it very interesting.

lol That song made me think of RHCP too. And this song also somehow reminds me of Prince & The NPG in the first half of the 90's.

"After Last Night" also has that early 90's Prince & The NPG vibe IMO.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Ottensen

I love the devotion to craft and their sense of humor in equal measure. Anderson laid out on that floor had me bowled over with laughter. lol

You don't value Anderson's contributions, I guess? Silk Sonic is a collaboration between the both of them.
