R.Kelly documentary?

I just started watching the R.Kelly documentary.

How in the hell can there be this many weak individuals in Kelly's circle?

My mind is blown away by this.

I honesly don't know how R.Kelly is still alive.

This is very sad that this has been allowed 2 go on for so long.

I'm dumbfounded.

It’s bigger than him & his circles unfortunately, a lot of people in the industry who either brushed shoulders with him or worked with him, are probably witnesses if not guilty of the same thing.

I didn’t think of that until he recently said that he will disclose the name of the big name individuals who are guilty as him of being pedophiles. I can’t wait for that to happen, I hope they all fry. And the parents too.

SoulAlive

when he “married” a 15-year old Aaliyah in 1994,that should have been the ultimate red flag.Where was the outrage? Her parents should have given him an ass-kicking that he would never forget! It’s sad and crazy how people can be “bought” and will simply look the other way,if you give them enough “hush money”,smh.

Ugh! Poor Aaliyah sad

Yeah, her parents were ok with it from the start. They should be persecuted too.

It pains me to say this- but I keep it real 100%
Too many Black people gave R Kelly a pass for years, always casting any investigation into his bad behavior as attempts to “bring a Successful Black Man down”, and painting all his accusers as whores and “gold diggers “

Black people need to be more discerning in these cases- we saw this with Cosby, we saw this with Jackson, and we see it again with Kelly. There are a lot of fucked up people in the world, and yes, some of them are Black

That is it right there. Too many passes given, less care for what happens to black girls.

The next issue here, is that many of them willingly went along with R. Kelly, some of the parents even knew their daughter was with him and figured they were in good hands...until they were not. There were videos of women saying, "come get me Kelly, I got my bags packed" and stuff. It was deeper than what was on the surface.

It's hardly deflection. Even in the doc people like his ex wife or some of the other victims said he was nice and charming to an extent when initially meeting/knowing these women until he inevitably went full HAM possessive / gaslighting / restrictive / locking them in rooms, etc....

This is common of all predators/abusers, it's not "deflection", it's acknowleding a psychological profile so people can recognize the signs/behaviors in their own thereotical/hypothetical or indeed real-life circumstances. It's actually turning a news story from base sensationalism into a cautionary tale of society enabling abusers and how said abusive behavior can both be recognized and subverted.

Even as the guilty verdict was reached he still had female fans outside the courtroom stanning.

Acknowledging this or the fact that a lot of the fathers of underage girls were stunting on social media celebrating that their teenage girls bagged R. Kelly isn't absolving him of any wrong doing or trying to claim he is not guilty of his crimes, it's pointing out the bigger picture.

I had a Great Uncle grope me when I was 12 in the silk pajamas my Gramma gave me; had my Dad's brother feel me up pretending to hug me in front of family; had an older cousin playing doctor, showing me his penis, and trying to similate sex with me when I was...8?...9? This shit ain't new; you just didn't talk about this stuff back in the day. Not to mention other "stuff" with non-family members when I was an adult... As a matter of fact I remember my the first boyfriend when I was 18 confided in me that he was sexually abused as a kid. This shit has been going on for decades and it needs to stop. Now.

Not to say it doesn't happen at all. I've never experienced it nor have I yet to have a family

member say that it's happened to them. Sorry you had to experience that. It can definitely

be a traumatic experience for a child. My point was for people to stop deflecting R.Kelly's messy

situation and make it about others.

I totally agree and I am SO sorry that this happened to you growing up. You must have some emotional trauma from men especially because that is NOT right and not your fault!! R. Kelly should be in jail for life for what he did because he will do it again to someone elses child. There are also grown women in the world that are vulverable like this and that is why it went on for so long too.

Thanks. These people are all dead now and I moved on a long time ago. Just brought it up to point out such behavior should never be tolerated and hidden like it is so many times in families.

I must have lead a sheltered life..........I simply can't imagine some of this stuff.

Kelly would have been dead a long time ago pulling this shit in my family.
