Probably right. That tour was boring. When I saw it in Manchester there was no atmosphere. She cut the show short and had a go at the audience for booing her before she came on. Total disaster.

At least with Madame X I felt I was seeing something new.

Wasn't that the show where the computer system that ran the show crashed, and it took hours to reboot it and they had to cut a whole segment of the show?

I had no idea what she was doing on the Rebel Heart Tour. The costumes, the sets. It was all so disjointed, heavy-handed. I didn't get the storyline. I got it with Blond Ambition, and The Girlie Show. MDNA had very specific sections, as did Confessions. But with RHT, I didn't get the Asian themes at the beginning. It didn't match the music. Then the weird look during stuff like "Deeper and Deeper;" that whole part. The music didn't support the look, because the music on that album was just garbage. "Iconic" is a horrible song and a terrible show opener.

So longwinded of me, but I agree with you about RH being boring.

And while I adore Madonna as a whole artist, musician, and one who provokes, I am not sure how she slips by being checked on her cultural appropriation. Elvis was called the great appropriator in another thread. And he was. But has anyone ever checked a chubby white girl from Michigan, in a white ass family (Italian roots aside) for literally dressing in Latino clothing, or Asian clothing, or even Urban gear (grillz, etc), and no one says a word. I mean, it was one thing to sideways adopt a (albeit horrible) British accent. But from "La Isla Bonita," to her whole Portugese aesthetic of late. Is it cuz she's hiding under being an "actress" or something? It's like anyone else can put on a sombrero and it's racist and cultural appropriation. Madonna reeancts Shogn for 20 minutes, and she's iconic.

I don't wish to crucify her. But if we're going thru this consequence culture right now ...

Yeah, it was missing purpose. Glad for her per4mances, but it sounds like a collection of songs with no tie-in.

I thought Rebel Heart was more a mixed bag. Some standout tunes Living For Love, Holy Water, Heartbreak City.

Next to some terrible ones B* I'm Madonna, Iconic, Illuminati.

It was like she was trying to be relevant on top of actually coming out with some well crafted tunes worthy of her category. The album also just had too many songs on it.

I always like Madonna for putting on new songs on her shows and not make it a greatest hits thing.

Even Prince didn't do that.

I enjoyed her show, don't think it's the best, but at least she's not doing the same thing over and over again.

I finally watched it! WOW!! This is incredible! In this show,she really went all the way with the whole Madame X/world music concept.Very entertaining! It's alot to absorb and think about.I now regret not seeing the actual show when it came to my area.This is great!

Don't really see the issue here ... she's always been an artist that plays a role. Nobody slams an actor or actress for playing a role on screen despite not being the role they are playing, so what's the issue with Madonna performing a Latino inspired song in traditional garb on stage? Is she only allowed to play white girl Michigan music (whatever that is, and I've no idea what "chubby" music is either) for her entire career? ...
