I liked them during the 80's of course. They never got the credit they deserve as planting the seeds for what became New Jack Swing. Hell if you go to discogs and look at their discography their 1985 and 1986 albums are categorized as R&B/New Jack Swing. Teddy Riley was with some R&B group called Kids At Work at this time if I'm not mistaken. I Wonder If I Take You Home (1985) was as New Jack as you can get. My point is they were churning out hits before Teddy broke out with Keith Sweat in 1987 and Guy in 1988. My favorite album by Full Force was 1986 Full Force Get Busy 1 time. I saw them on a Fresh Fest tour around this time too. Don't laugh at my funk

back in the day when the mighty Jheri curl was strong. in my opinion things went downhill real fast when the Jheri curl disappeared . Not just Full force but many otehr groups as well. the Jheri curl, for some strange, mysterious reason kept the ideas and inspiration flowing then the year 89 changed everything the music started sounding different when the curls were gone it happened to the best of them I've dated outside of my race and I discovered that Good Pussy is Good Pussy and Good Booty is Good Booty regardless of ethnicity...I don't have a Fetish for only Big White Tits, Big White Butts or Phat White Pussy.(chancellor) wise man !

One of my favorite groups back in the day, and I still like all the songs that I used to like back then. I bought almost EVERY single piece of music they ever worked on, and they worked with such a diverse and big spectrum of artists from mid 80s rap groups such as UTFO and the Real Roxanne to Latin pop such as Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam and Samantha Fox and James Brown. I really liked their uplifting, positive attitude and I am happy that they´re all still healthy, happy and alive and that Paul Anthony has his cancer under control. As a kid, they inspired me to stay positive and work out regularly and to stay away from drugs. They were very talented, had great lyrics, were funny, romantic, versatile.....just a great band and actually one of the last great bands before big bands became a thing of the past. I have all their albums, maxi singles, all the stuff they did with Lisa Lisa, basically everything except for their later work with Samantha Fox and that JB album. I wonder what happened to Mike and Spanador from Cult Jam. Lisa is still touring and doing Freestyle festivals but mostly without a proper backing band. . Full Force had interesting costumes, too. I really liked almost every song they did for or with Lisa Lisa ( Girl, If You Take Me Home and I Wonder If I Take You Home), Temporary Love Thing, Your Love Is So Def, Chain Me To The Night, Alice, Love Is For Suckers....I still know every single line of the lyrics. . Great band, great guys. They created a little music universe with all those different projects, and it never seemed forced. It was like a big family, a bit reminiscent of what was going on in Prince´s camp and with The Time and Jimmy Jam, Jesse and all those other groups but in a more harmonious and more peaceful way. Very much like one big family that even extended further to include groups such as Whodini and others. They were all kind of connected back then. . . Good times. They are very active on Facebook these days. Not sure who´s behind all the postings but I think it´s Bowlegged Lou. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I know them only from 'I'm Real', the album they did with James Brown in 1988.
Which I thought was a decent attempt at 'updating' James' sound for the period.
Plus they brought back Maceo, which really sealed the deal .

I have 3 Keyshia Cole albums. Spanador produced something on 1 of them. But I don't remember what off hand, I'd have to get the CDs and look at the credits. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Another track from that album though called Static was the jam. It was cool how Full Force had static actually playing throughout the track. As far as Mike and Spanador. I remember on their Unsung they admitted to not being happy with being pushed in the background after the successful Lisa Lisa and Full Force duets. They felt like Full Force featured themselves a little too much instead of just being the producers. I can understand how they must have felt but Full Force was gonna milk that cow until all was gone. [Edited 10/5/21 13:17pm] Don't laugh at my funk

The Keyshia Cole song I mentioned above is called Beautiful Music from her 2008 album A Different Me, which is the last one I bought. Spanador co-wrote & co-produced it. Jam & Lewis did a song (So Impossible) on one of her albums after this. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Bobby Rush still has a curl today, never stopped wearing it. Some of those New Jack Swing singers in the late 1980s to early 1990s had a flat top s-curl like Al B. Sure!. Then there was Ice Cube/Eazy E. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
