You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

She has worked hard to lose weight and looks great but she was an attractive lady carrying the weight too. She's still dull as ditch water for me though as an artist

I really do like Adele and I think she has an amazing voice, but I find her music so damn depressing. I have her previous albums, but I rarely listen to them as they just make me sad. I have no doubt that her new album will be good, but I'm not in any hurry to hear it. At this point in my life, I'm more interested in music that is uplifting and fun. All the heartbreak stuff gets to be too much sometimes. Having said this, I don't know the theme of her new album, I can only go by her previous work.

I don't find her music depressing. Her music is more low key sometimes. She's not belting out a Tracy Young production or something.

But things like "When We Were Young" and "Rolling In the Deep" and her version of "Make You Feel My Love" are on another level.

Of course she's also singing about breakups, etc. I have to say, she's 100% more interesting singing about breakups than Taylor Swift.

I need to hear something real right now. Music today sucks balls. We need something genuine, even if it's more low key or mellow. I'm tired of auto-tune, vocoders, dry ass can-of-corn beats, manic highhats, and the same ol' melody over it all.

"Easy On Me" is out!

The beginning feels like a sequel to "Hello," and leaving that part of her life behind.

It's just wonderful to hear her sing again. The world has been too dark for too long. She brings light and joy.

She went from cute fat chick to stunning. Yes, she did put the work in, but it's just as hard to maintain that healthy lifestyle to keep the weight off.

Rich Paul is one lucky mfer. Never knew Adele liked the dark stuff. biggrin

I believe “Someone Like You “ was about a previous boyfriend who happened to be Black

Adele 30 is out!

  1. Strangers by Nature
  2. Easy On Me
  3. My Little Love
  4. Cry Your Heart Out
  5. Oh My God
  6. Can I Get It
  7. I Drink Wine
  8. All Night Parking (Interlude)
  9. Woman Like Me
  10. Hold On
  11. To Be Loved
  12. Love Is A Game

Apple Music also did a 50 minute interview with Adele about the album. Great sit down talk with Zane Lowe.

The album is in full on Amazon Music Unlimited, and limited on Amazon Music. I assume it's on Spotify, and definitely on Apple Music.

So I listened to it last night. I agree with the note that she's using more rhythm. It was a journey, and super personal in many ways. The recordings of her talking to her child, even her saying, "one more time" to go through the chorus again on another song, etc. The production feels more airy, open, ethereal yet engaging, melodic. It's not a hook-y album per se, but I believe some of the songs are going to really help people not only appreciate Adele in a new way, but find healing and hope in her music.

Someone who loves Adele said, after the Oprah interview, "She makes me happy, and sad at the same time. I'm so confused." lol But I understood his sentiments, and fully agree.

Amy was unique, an incredibly talented artist. I like Adele, but in my opinion she has nothing on Amy.

To me i compare ADELE much to what Celine and Mariahs albums were (at least early Mariah), I could never sit and listen to one, i liked some songs but I just felt they never went anywhere, they had a blueprint of big opening big ballad surprise type song where they did something rare musically but I always found them stale, and nothing more or less. Which is why OFTEN if asked what song a hit single is from the albums are so interchangeable with these artists I dont know where a song came from or what album, later Mariah I felt was all one long album from everything after Glitter till now, and this started a bit with Rainbow too as far as Celine I dont think she is a strong album artist and neither is Adele they are strong singles artists but rarely is there a deep cut like others have that arent singles, its very by the numbers.

I just watched this earlier today. What a great conversation. Music aside, she made some points today that really hit home with me. I also finished watching the Mariah Carey interview on A Conversation with Oprah. She also made some points that hit home. Both talked about trauma, and dealing with that long term, and that it can affect your life for decades after. Both talked about anxiety, which I can fully identify with, too.

But yeah, good talk. Loving the press around 30.
