forgotten hits by anybody You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The Chi-Lites are mostly remembered for their 70s slow jams "Have You Seen Her?" and "Oh Girl" but in 1983,they delivered this super catchy funk jam......

MickyDolenz said: Fun fact: Stacy was offered a song that later became a massive hit for another artist. That song is “Ring My Bell” by Anita Ward. The song was originally intended for Stacy, but it had different lyrics about young teens hanging out on a party line. For whatever reason,Stacy passed on it,the lyrics were re-written to be more “sexier”,Anita recorded it and it became one of the biggest disco hits of 1979.

"Telephone" by Diana Ross (1984)----in late 1984,Diana Ross released one of her strongest albums of the 80s,Swept Away. The first two singles (the title track and "Missing You") were big hits. The excellent track,"Telephone" (produced by Bernard Edwards), was released as the third single, but it didn't do as well.

I have their debut album.I remember buying it mainly because of the first single "The Best Of Me" but I found several other great tunes too. There's an excellent slow jam called "Quiet Guy" plus the aforementioned duet with Shanice "This Time".It's a very good, underrated album from the late 80s.

I remember that song... But "Missing You"--her tribute to Marvin Gaye-- was the one Diana poured her heart into... https://youtu.be/Bf4wU94hES4 "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
