John Mayer's Sob Rock

I am reaaaaally digging this 80s nostalgia pop-rock vibe from this album, reminds me of a hybrid of Toto, Peter Gabriel, Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen, if they all decided to get pink guitars to play. smile

I'm a big John Mayer fan, but not feeling this one.

First i think it's weird to put some songs on it that were released so long ago.

This song I didn't know aren't that strong, they just don't grap me like other abums.

to me his most consistent work yet and remember this is a concept and he wanted this to have a feel and sound in that vein to go with his vision. So I think you have to go in realizing that, I am surprised at a few reviews I have heard that fail to even realize his vision and it was a concept. Till this time for John was always a good player but here and there full albums did not grab me, a lot of strong songs in his career but overall album wise I have never found myself going back to his albums for straight listens. This album I already have played straight through more than all his albums combined. It's short consistent ten tracks to me no filler, good balance and I get the concept totally.
