This is excellent news. Ms. Baker's success is well deserved and the fact that she now owns her masters solidifies it.
To think, part of her journey started with an investment into her first album from "Freeway" Ricky Ross.
Here's to hoping some remasters/reissues are coming our way.

I believe she is officially retired so dont expect new music. I think the best we can hope for is some vault material and I dont have much hope that will happen at this point. Im curious to know why the album she had recorded and had ready to go on the Bluenote label a few years ago was shelved? [Edited 9/6/21 11:41am] "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! She was performing live before the pandemic. I don't believe she will be recording anything new either. | |
