Which guitarist was better on Controversy Tour? Prince or Roger Troutman?

Roger was a child prodigy playing guitar since 3 years old and could play all the instruments more than Prince(roger played harmonica & horns prince couldnt) Who was better in 1982?

Roger was a very good rhythm player but on lead guitar he was never close to His Royal Badness

Roger wasn't that type of a lead guitarist...Zapp's music didn't call for those type of solos either. His influences were guys like Wes Montgomery, James Nolan and B.B. King. He plays a killer clean jazzy solo on the extended version of "So Ruff, So Tuff". I loved his "in the pocket" ryhthm guitar work.

neither did ther Time's music and it had ripping guitar solos ...just because Roger played with more taste as Prince doesnt mean he wasnt as good or better .

Never said Roger was as good or better...but at the end of the day, The Time was P's brainchild. Of course P was going to set up some of The Time's music (that he created) as a vehicle for his style of lead guitar playing (whether it was him or Jesse). And we all know Jesse contributed a lot of his ideas on those albums (credited or not).
