Not a bad song. Experimental and dark, but accessible at the same time. It's aging incredibly well imo.

It's their masterpiece. I really like many of their albums but that's the only true A+ one for me.

Interesting that you picked this album as their best, as it didn't have the commercial success, huge singles, or critical acclaim to the level of some of their other 80s albums. That said, I agree with you. As an album, I played it repeatedly without skipping a song. Some of their other albums had great songs but some filler on it. Touché!

same for me. savage is the best one, hands down.

I enjoy Revenge a lot, too, because it's so poppy and commercial rock.

Be Yourself Tonight is great, as is Sweet Dreams.

but Savage. Damn, Savage is in it's own league. it's a-ma-zing.

I bought the cassette back in 87 for Beethoven (I Love to Listen)...such a cool tune...and fell in love with the whole album. I remember making copies quite a bit for friends after they heard it in my car. Too weird for the masses I guess, but I never cared about charts or critics.

I was still in Kindergarten, but even I knew what Annie Lennox was putting down for the "I Need A Man" video, a woman in drag as a woman.

"You Have Placed A Chill In My Heart" was from this album too, and I seem to recall this album having legs well into 1988 and rubbing up on Scrooged's "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" with Al Green.

This is an album.

Really, absolutely brilliant.

A piece of art that tells a story. There's never a need to skip a track.

None of the tracks would make my top 5 Eurythmics songs though... BUT... what a listen.

It's a complete album. A rarity in itself.

Bought it on release day.
