Motown 25 vs. Live Aid

Both shows are incredible and have the most famous performances from mj and queen. Which show did you enjoy more if you lived through that time period and why?

Michael Jackson didn't perform at LiveAid. Try again.

Mick Jagger did lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Motown 25. I loved seeing the performances of all the Motown stars. Of course, the Jacksons reunion and Michael’s historic performance was the icing on the cake for me. The next day that was all EVERYBODY talked about and it was all that the actual stars who performed there talked about. cool

And apparently, they're almost indistinguishable from each other.

Motown 25 easily. It was Michael Jackson"s performance of Billie Jean that sent Thriller through the roof.

But you stated it like it was a fact.

Are we talking just Queen's performance vs MJ's performance or the whole concert in general? For the whole concert it's Live Aid while except for MJ's performance motown 25 was kinda boring.

Motown 25 easily. I own the DVD and have watched it from start to finish many times. The Temptations/Four Tops battle, Marvin Gaye a year before he passed away, Stevie Wonder are among the many highlights during that special.

When Live Aid aired on the other hand, I only had it on in the background waiting for the Prince video to come on.

With an event like Live Aid '85, I would've compared it more to Woodstock '69 lol
