I don't know much about Metallica, but this new project sounds cool.

52 artists will cover songs from Metallica's Black Album. All proceeds go to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation and over 50 other charities.

Today, Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode announced he will cover "Nothing Else Matters" which is a song I know from Metallica and I'm excited to hear what Dave does with it. Has anyone heard Depeche Mode cover "So Cruel" from U2? I love Dave's voice, so emotional and earthy.

I've nearly damaged my eyes looking at the other artists but I see St. Vincent, Weezer, Darius Rucker, Chase & Status and other artists lined upfor the project.

Out of all the artists, I've maybe heard of 6 of them.

They should have just redid the album in 4 different genres instead of what they came up with.
