Lil Nas X splits his pants on live TV.

On tonight's season finale of Saturday Night Live, Lil Nas X - the musical guest - performed "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)."

Half way through the song, he hands off his microphone to a dancer and starts a pole dance. Nas X does a squat and comes back up with a look of shock on his face. His pants, where were zippered from front to back, split. He finished the performance with his hand over his groin.

Variety article.

But you know what? He handled it like a pro and kept going. Good on him.

I am not a fan of his so-called music at all. But, I must say I was impressed by the performance on SNL. I couldn't make out 90% of the lyrics which was probably a good thing. lol

Was it really split or was he just making out it was? I can't see a split.

You're not supposed to see the split. It was on live TV, and the last thing a network wants is a dick hanging out. (I'm personally not opposed to seeing a dick, but you know. Some folks, amiright?)

You can see when it splits, because when he squats with with the pole, his hip area jolts a bit. That's his body pulling against the pants, then being let loose because of the split. It wasn't a stunt, he's not a plant. And every goddamn artist is an attention whore. If they weren't, they wouldn't be in front of a camera. Old argument.

Good point. Reminds me of a Lawrence Olivier quote. When asked why he became an actor, he replied, "Look at me, look at me, look at me."

No it is not.

How by the way can you call someone a media or whatever whore ?

And why ?

He's a great performer. You don't have to like his music to see that.

All kids like 'm. At least what i can see from the kids around me.

And, he's a great example for the very young gay community.

He's about to become bigger I'm sure.

He's got it all for the pop star formula.

I'm not into his music that much either.

Because i'm an old Prince fan probably. wink

But give the kids of today a break. It's their party now.

I move on.

why?...because he and all his antics are disgusting...and he's NOT a great performer...and "all the kids" dont love him .. i know mine cant stand him either... nor do most of the other teens they spend time around...they make fun of him and his music and his antics...maybe there are certain demographics of "kids" that like him, but to say "all the kids love him", is far from true.

I like Old Town Road a lot, the video is funny. Still listen to it and the remix with BTS. His other songs are alright. Who would have thought Billy Ray Cyrus would have a #1 song almost 30 years after Achy Breaky Heart? razz

And ones that have a zipper all the way to the taint. Then squat like you're about to drop a deuce in the woods.

Wow !

Dude, I'm not into his music that much either.

But stating his 'antics are discusting'...

Serious, you have to be able to establish in an objective way that this can accepted by youngsters. They like it. And certainly not ''all kids'' like this. But look at the numbers...

Facts from hits on youtube only :

'Sun Goes Down' : 13.531.500 hits

'Rodeo' - 124.633.466 hits

'Holiday' - 153.439.751 hits

'Montero' - 224.238.203 hits

'Panini' - 390.545.291 hits

'Old Town Road' : 744.084.926 hits

And he even did not released an album i was told, just an EP apparently.

My 4 young teenage godchildren are crazy about it; just like their schoolmates.

Sure there are other kids who possibly don't like it. Which is only normal, right?

One of my godchildren told me Lil Nas X is gay. And I said to him ''so what, that's just fantastic!''

I told him how wonderfull it is that Lil Nas X can be himself in a free world, and be succesfull too.

Kids need to understand that an example like this is perfectly acceptable.

Again, not my type of music, but i'm way too old to understand these new styles anyway. wink

His video's are actually fantastic though.

Peace. smile

Lil Nas X talks about his pants split, on The Tonight Show. And shows the dress rehearsal and what was supposed to happen on the pole, also to prove the whole thing wasn't some publicity stunt. He has enough attention with just being himself. He doesn't need the white supremacist backlash that Janet suffered from her accident, at 20 years old just starting out.

How did you not hear about it? I feel like it was all over the news, but maybe it was just me. But yeah, it did happen. If you cruise YouTube, there are plenty of clips, and Lenny kept on going. The show must - and did - go on. It happened March 8, 2015 in Paris.

ET covered it.

Here's a crowd shot.

Lenny's Twitter response after Steven Tyler txt'd him.

Sideways but go to the 1:50 mark.

Well, that's the perfect place for this to happen smile

Most Europeans don't make that much of a fuss about it.

Remeber the silly nipple gate w Janet, blown up to unbelievable proportions.

It was just a nipple.

Whatever if 75000K or whatever amount of people saw it.

A simple nearly covered female nipple (with a sun piercing around it) is bacsically nothing compared with anyone's dick hanging out wide and visial. biggrin

What a great story.

Nope didn't know anything about it. Gonna check it. wink
