Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

This album does not age!! I have been playing it a lot lately and realize again how much I love it. Its my fave Mac album...just brilliant. Anyone agree??

I don't think this one gets the credit it deserves under the shadown of Rumours and considered a commercial failure due to its price and radio stations playing the whole album at the time. But its by far more interesting than any other Mac album. I love that Buckingham didn't play it safe. Reminds me of someone else we know!

I need to listen to it again. I remember the title song being on radio. It was so moody, dramatic, and different. We were all enchanted with it.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I have “Tusk” deluxe edition with the DVD of the album in 5.1 Surround sound. That’s probably the best way to hear it

It is one of the fine rare double albums that indeed remains ageless.

Probably due to the Lindsey Buckingham's input i believe.

It is their 'White Album' imho.

-

By the way, Buckingham's solo albums are soooooo good, and undervalued.

Check them out (too).

On June 12 1980 I had the chance to see Fleetwood Mac in concert overhere in Brussels/Belgium fot that TUSK tour.

I was 14 yo and my cousin (18 at the time) offered me to join him.

I was a huge Kiss fan at the time and sort of thought it was OK, not saying a thing to my friends that i was going to see Fleetwood Mac. wink

Then my world changed after that.

After that waaw-concert, my view on rock music in general changed.

Due to the big venue of course, the roaring crowd, the hugeness of it all.

And also the sound. I somehow still remember the sound of that long concert.

It had such an impact on me as a 14 yo rock'nroll nitwit.

My cousin by the way took me more often with him to other concerts.

I started to devellop a feel for rock and pop music he propsed to me, looking up to my cousin.

I'll be forever grateful for giving me the chance to discover live performances.

He didn't had a baby brother, and said once i was that for him.

Fleetwood Mac has ever since won me over.

Still up to this day, i can feel the positive awkwerdness the single ''Tusk'' brought with it.

What a fanstatic song that still is.

Other favorite tracks are "Think About Me'', ''Sara'', Storms'', ''That's all everyone'', ''Not that funny'', ''Never Make Me Cry'', and ''Never forget''.

-

By the way, the Christine McVie self titlted album of 1984 is also a very enjoyable album.

Love the track ''Got a hold on me''.

The Rhino editions of recent years are impeccable . And you have a choice of Deluxe editions with lots of extras or basic vanilla versions with just beautifully remastered copies of the original albums

It's Lindsey Buckingham ego, power and cocaine tripping lol but who cares? It's a great album. I'm not sure I think it's aged as well as a whole as some of you, but a lot of it did. I like it enough that I bought the super deluxe re-release version a few years back.

I was so disappointed when they kicked Lindsey out of the band several years ago. They have all been through so much together. There's been alot of drama. But somehow,in the past, they always managed to put it all together and keep it going. My hope is that they can reunite, bring Lindsey back and do one more final farewell tour.

I don’t remember much about the album aside from the songs where Stevie sang lead, perhaps I should give it a spin soon.

It's 'The White Album' by fleetwood Mac.

A recommendation.

Take it slow. It's not a ready made album.

It needs to grow.
