i agree wih many listed already.

i would add the omnipresent Khalid. He isn't terrible, but certainly doesn't have a voice that would warrant his massive chart success and the fact that so many better singers are doing duets with him (Alicia, H.E.R., etc.).

Khaled is not a singer, and has never sung a note on any record...he's a DJ who talks here and there over the songs...much like radio DJs do...because thats how he got his start in Miami in the music industry

Where have you been. Khalid has been everywhere with his music, including the Urban AC, Urban and pop charts, The Voice, all over tv etc. Not to suggest that you should be listening to all this, but he has been inescapable the past few years.

No, Axl sings good for the kind of music he does.

Bob Dylan is a great singer. Uniqueness is a key in singing.

I loathe Axl/GnR but correct.

Bob Dylan is a brilliant singer. At times an acquired taste.

NOPE. Not a fan AT ALL but you WISH you could sing like this. I know I do and I can sing.

"Howard Hewitt, dude caint sing."

He's even rated?

"Musiq--he did have one good song, but eww"

"Boy George"

NOPE. Iconic.

"Bieber"

"Chris Brown."

Both are mediocre on their best days. Plus, no one rates them for thier vocals.

How are we considering these names overrated as singers? Is it due to their popularity or their actual singing ability cuz Justin Bieber generally ain't regarded as a good singer.

Also, Howard Hewett can't sing...? Find yourself a rehab center.

Honestly, now that I realize who the OP is I think making OTT radical leftfield statements might be something of a gimmick for him. There's just an air of meta in many of his posts.

Intentional or not, I still disagree with him 98% of the time.

Maybe now since he's older and can't hit the notes anymore (like most people when they get older) but back in the day he sounded great live.

Keith Sweat has already been mentioned. My ears don't tolerate Michael Archer's voice that well either. Also find Maxwell an overrated singer. All his shit sound like a snoozefest 2 me. I have the same with Sade.

yeah, D'Angelo is not really a great singer, but i dont know if he's "overrated"...same with Sade'...theyre both song stylists, not really renowned as great singers per se'...Maxwell always sounded amateurish IMO

Yeah I mentioned Sweat. His first 2 albums were okay but later on his voice became

annoying, derivative, and comical at the same time. His annoying voice is very comical

on some songs like Get Up On It and I'm Not Ready.

Didn't have love 4 Keith's whiney singing voice from the beginning. Weirdest shit is that I own at least 1 the album of each dude I mentioned. KS got the most money outta me, cuz I bought at least 5 of his albums. Some of 'em I never even bothered 2 open. Yeay... go KS!

There's singers and there's vocalists and they're not the same thing. Bob Dylan is a fairly bad singer who is a pretty amazing vocalist, Boy George managed to be good at both even if he doesn't always have the songs.
