Nike sues over Lil Nas X 'Satan Shoes'

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

So pathetic, some people will do anything for money, fame, and attention....too bad that many fall for it and give it to them.

I wonder if Cardi B bought a pair since she likes bloody shoes.

In the 1970s, KISS put out a comic book where the members put their blood in the ink. I think there is a bigger contoversy with the Montero music video than the sneakers

this talentless boy has been a digusting and sickening degenerate ever since he first appeared on the scene...he's doing everything the industry puppet-masters want him to do, and its damn near vomit inducing to see a young black man stoop to such deviant behaviors to gain "fame" and money...he is the epitome of a sellout, and symbolic of the poisoning of "entertainment" and pop culture in general

Unfortunately, that's the kind of world we live in today. I'm just glad that I don't have any kids in this time and age, who could possibly be a fan of this guy.

You clicked on this thread more than once, even after your comment about the blood paintings. You volunteered to do so.

I don't think the blood is the main thing that people are upset about. It's the devil imagery with the shoes and his new music video Montero. It's similar to the 1980s in which some parents complained about the same thing in heavy metal music. Such as playing the record backwards had hidden messages. Since the shoes used are originally Nike and the shoes has a backwards Nike symbol, people think they made the shoes. A little while back Nike did put out a Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air sneaker. They're not suing Lil Nas X, but MSCHF who designed & sold the shoes. The swoosh symbol is Nike's trademark. Some people are also complaining that Lil Nas X has many young children fans who liked Old Town Road. He's even been on Sesame Street. It's like when Hannah Montana became Miley Cyrus and the image was totally different.

Perfectly explained RJ, thank you. The guy is just a tool being used. He makes Stepin Fetchit seem like Malcom X.

It’s sad and embarassing the way many of today’s so-called “artists” will do anything for media attention. The music takes a back seat. These folks would rather be shameless media whores.Kanye West is a prime example.

I don’t know too much about this Lil Nas guy,but it seems like he specializes in outrageous publicity stunts.Anything for attention, huh? Smh

Lil Nas X's 'Montero' Tops Both Billboard Global Charts, Billie Eilish's 'Your Power' Debuts in Top 10
By Gary Trust • 5/10/2021 • Billboard

Billboard's two worldwide tallies rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.

Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" is the biggest song in the world, as it rebounds from No. 2 to No. 1 for its fourth week atop the Billboard Global 200 chart and scores its second week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.

Plus, Billie Eilish's "Your Power" debuts in the top 10 of both global charts; The Kid LAROI and Miley Cyrus' "Without You" zooms 30-10 on the Global 200 following the release of its remix with Cyrus; and Sebastián Yatra and Myke Towers' "Pareja del Año" reaches the Global Excl. U.S. top 10, bounding 17-9.

Billboard's two global charts (the latest of which are dated May 15) began last September and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts' calculations.

Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" lifts 2-1 for its fourth total week atop the Billboard Global 200 with 84.2 million streams (down 14%) and 6,300 sold (down 24%) worldwide in the April 30-May 6 tracking week.

Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" adds its second week at No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, with 62.2 million streams (down 13%) and 3,000 sold (down 7%) in territories outside the U.S. in the April 30-May 6 tracking week.

Justin Bieber's "Peaches," featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon, rises 3-2 on the Global 200 following its two-week reign; The Weeknd and Ariana Grande's "Save Your Tears" drops to No. 3 after topping the chart a week earlier, following the April 23 release of its remix with Grande; Dua Lipa's "Levitating," featuring DaBaby, holds at its No. 4 high; and Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More," featuring SZA, repeats at its No. 5 best.

The very namesake of this site courted controversy and scared people with dark-sided content for yeears. demon

It comes down to if you like the song or not, and if you don't like it, it probably wasn't meant for you anyway! shrug

Hmm. Dirty Mind is top 5 for you, but Lil Nas is a degenerate. Interesting.
