Dirty Mind-era Prince VS. Montero-era Lil Nas X [Who Has The Better Controversial Look?] There are a few YouTubers [especially Gee Lowery/Gee Dizzle] that dares to say what Lil Nas X is doing in no more or less controversial that Prince ever done when he was younger. . First of all, bullshit! Second of all, how dare anyone to commit the act of great blasphemy of placing Prince [a man that played every musical instrument except those of the horn section] in the same sentence as Lil Nas X. . My rant aside, this thread is more about the appearance of both men. Who did it better in your opinion: Prince [Dirty Mind-era] OR Lil Nas X [Montero-era]?

Prince wasn't making interesting videos (and rarely did, actually), so I'd say LIl Nas X did that part better. But every artist has their coming out moment. Christian had Stirpped, Prince had Dirty Mind, Britney had Britney, on and on. Timberlake's was probably FutureSex/LoveSound.
I always thought Dirty Mind was a sideline project, one that came out but wasn't intended to be as such, but that's what made it charming and unique. Nas X has had the time to be even more purposeful with his look, etc. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

[Site owner does not allow frontal nudes snip - luv4u] You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I'll just say Prince doing what he did with Dirty Mind was more impactful in the era he did it than Lil Nas X doing what he did in the present day. Standards in 2021 are far, far looser (and lower) than they were in 1980.
The controversy of the Dirty Mind era is considered iconic nearly 40 years later. With Nas X's antics, it's more like another day at the office with what we've become accustomed too. Nobody's gonna be talking about his Satanic stunt a month from now, let alone in 2061. [Edited 4/27/21 10:17am]

I heard lil nas x made that video about his first crush, and put the devil in the video cause he was told he would go to hell for his preferences No comparison to prince at all, they both did their own thing
