Damn, how could I forget Gary Taylor! Definitely Underrated, and one of my unsung heroes!

One of my prized possessions is a 45 single of his original version of "Just Get's Better With Time".

When he wrote it as a single for his proposed second album, A&M, his label at the time,

said they could not hear a hit.

Gary ended up giving the song to Alfie Silas, and later to the Whispers, who, of course, scored a huge hit with the song....

Little Richard's music did not get the promotion and attention after his early success. Same for others like Fats Domino & Chubby Checker. They became oldies acts who people would go to see perform their 1950s hits. Elvis continued to get noticed because all of those movies he did in the 1960s. Elvis had TV specials & concert films later in his career and he still got radio airplay. Richard kinda became a celebrity personality that was seen on TV shows, like the kind who would be on Hollywood Squares or talk shows like Mike Douglas. Some people today know him as the guy who would say "shut up" on TV commercials. Richard's gospel records are pretty good too. On the gospel stuff, he often sings different, less screaming. He sings straight, you probably would not know it was him. razz

Omg the gospel stuff! They really showcased his range and proved he sang like an Angel. I loved his gospel period too. His career is one of the most frustrating stories in rock & roll, combination of racism and missed opportunities.

JoeBala	Alot of people don't know that George Micheal sang background for Cassidy. I always felt he was underrated as a singer. Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!
