Man, I Feel Like A Woman

Okay, this is not a coming out story. I need some input for fun.

I've appreciated Shania Twain in the past but was never a country fan. But lately, I'm feeling the fuck out of "Man, I Feel Like A Woman."

I told my friend, "Women always get the great anthems. You never hear a man singing, "Baby look at this diiiiick!" and it be a Top-10 hit.

I think about "I'm Every Woman," or even "Lady Marmalade."

So I want to make a playlist based on that idea - powerful women anthem. Just upbeat, fun, "I'm singing this regardless if I have a puss-puss or dick or not, cuz it fucking bops!" songs.

A few off hand:

I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor

Strong Enough - Cher

It's Raining Men - Weather Girls

Man, I Feel Like A Woman - Shania Twain

I'm Every Woman - Whitney (Chaka's on the track, so I'm going w/ this version, but may include both anyway)

Lady Marmalade - LaBelle

Your turn.

That's a good one. And yes, that remix is bomb!

Songs like that are what I'm looking for.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

702, Where My Girls At, not sure abt these last two but does TLC, No Scrubs and EnVogue's My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get It) pass muster? I feel like they were "anthems" for women but maybe not in the way you've described. I also think this list is more vast content wise than a " baby look at this diiiiick" summary that u reduced it to comparatively for men. ijs

And for those who may not know, Barbra subtitled it "No More Tears." That lyric either wasn't originally in the song or part of the song title. But since the song was due to be on her record Wet, and every song had a water theme or title on it. "Enough is Enough" didn't, so Babs added "No More Tears" to the title to make it fit.

Oddly enough, the lyrics do mention a raincoat, and the words "raining," "pouring," so even if "No more tears" hadn't been added or already there, there were still water elements in it.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
