I thought King James was an excellent exercise in modern Fresh-era Sly & the Family Stone, but yeah it was fairly disliked by most.

I agree I was expecting something more upbeat but I think they read the room well.

I think Paak's last album was quite enjoyable, although not as strong as Malibu it is still miles above most current artists IMO.
