"Don't b dumb son, grab your condom n Bacardi" . Was never a fave song, but I appreciate it now when it comes on. On topic: I didn't really mind Don't Break My Balls either, it was "interesting" For all time I am with you, you are with me.

I would put this on a mix tape with "Everybody Loves Me" Which also is a fun song!
From the video, in my opinion, there wasn't enough of the dancing fuzzy person "Whatever skin we're in
we all need 2 b friends" | |

Nope! It's a tandem-seater, at least in the cockpit of this jetliner. TrivialPursuit said:

Well....I don't think this is the worst thing he's ever done. I actually think it's a lot tighter than what he released just before this. Doesn't he live in Italy now? This feels very Italian. Like "Hey don't break my balls! It's only a damn song!" Maybe it's best just to listen to the song without the video. He obvisouly is not planning on it being a #1.
But as I said before, in my view, he could use a 2nd pair of ears IE a producer like a Rick Rubin or a Dan Auerbach. Shit, I'll even take Questlove in order bring him back to greatness.

Sananda is pretty great and in fact ahead of the crowd with his Post-Millenium Rock. The people who don't like it are sleeping, in my honest opinion. > Everybody has their own tastes in style and substance.

I love TTD and will always but as I posted once before, I had to walk out of gig he did once at the Kentish Town Forum (I think it was there) in the early 00s. He was so cringe and the band was so uninspired, just so uncool and I just couldn't watch anymore. I was so disappointed. I do still follow his recorded output.

wow curious why you walked out ...
i saw him around 2004 - in nyc and it was a great show . i remember saying his voice is just so perfect in a live setting ...
I still love 90% of everything he puts out .... diggin this new album ...

He was really trying too hard to impress the audience by constantly dancing in a really odd almost-ballet style (well thats what I'm calling it). His voice was not strong either. The guitar player was waaaay too rock and roll like he was the perfect caricature of a lead guiatrist. Super ham and the band was just generally lifeless. I know that bands and artists have bad days on stage and so maybe this was one of them. Maybe I was comparing him to Prince who I may have just seen on the ONA Tour. Maybe it's worth seeing him again one day. I've seen recent videos on YT of him in Italy and something feels off.

What you're referring to may have been during his immediate-or-near post label days? He himself says that his best tour effort was done in the "Vibrator" days, when he had a beautiful, killer band but no label support whatsoever for what he was doing in his act. Immediately after he was done with the record corp. he was struggling.... > Anyway, today--stagewise, I beleive--when can focus soley on the singing I feel he's best in performance, or when also playing keyboard. > Other than that he makes do alright but doesn't always look natural--you wouldn't compare him (or many others, btw) with Prince, lol. He doesn't really dance anymore--he's not even trying to impress the ladies that way, maybe a little shuffle at most. > I particularly enjoy a couple videos of club dates he did with "The Nudge Nudge" at the Blue Note in Tokyo and Fasching in Stockohlm. >

It was around the time of Wildcard. Maybe after the release of that album, of which I listened to alot when I got it. I mean, dont get me wrong, other than Prince, his catalogue is in my Top 6 of all time that I prefer. I love everything he has ever released including the Post-Millenium Rock thing. I was terribly excited to see him that time but sadly, that excitement was short lived. I did once have a bootleg of his from Sweden during the tour for the 3rd album and that was monumental. I wish I knew how I had lost that cd. I also remember him early on in an ABC Network late night music show - can't remember the title of the show now. Also a great show. And the Grammys from 1988 when Prince and MJ were in the audience and they sat there watching this young hotshot pretender. Maybe I'll search out those videos you quoted.
