Aaliyah On the heels of her best-selling debut, Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number, fifteen-year-old Aaliyah was rocked by a sex scandal that would have crushed a lesser talent. But breaking ties with her label and former producer and paramour R. Kelly afforded the teenage singer to create a new musical life for herself. She joined forces with production/songwriting duo Timbaland and Missy Elliott, who crafted a set of funky and futuristic soul tracks that took audiences and stale R&B radio by storm. Aaliyah showed strength and resilience—and effortless cool—and went on to garner multiplatinum sales, becoming a huge star. But her comeback was short-lived. At twenty-two, just as she released her third album and started an acting career, Aaliyah lost her life in a plane crash. However, icons never die, and her musical legacy endures. https://www.waxpoetics.co...ernal-soul

Lets be real, she was only ever a mediocre talent, the real talent being her producers.

I’ve always liked her. Her third album is my favourite, love the musical diversity on it

are they talking about Robert molesting her? if so, then sex scandal is an absolute understatement.

Love Aaliyah, especially her first two albums. My favorite jams are the Marvin Gaye cover with the Billie Jean backbeat, don't remember it's name, and I'm Looking For a Girl Like You with Treach.

She died too young, obviously. Just a horrible and tragic situation there. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I was never a huge fan. I thought she was an average singer who's good looks helped elevated her but I did like the song and video "We Need A Resolution" it had a kinda haunting feel to it. I also liked her in Romeo Must Die. I do wonder if she had not passed what her career would look like. I think she would have become more of an actress

The relationship-themed banger "Don't Know What To Tell Ya," which was released after her death, is absolutely flawless, as is her third album. Givin' up food for funk.

Wow, you would think that when or if you get to heaven, that Jesus would be the first one that you want to see, or look for. Also, I don't think that race will matter in heaven. I don't think heaven consists of celebrity worship or fame, and don't think that there are any "celebrities" in heaven (and I don't mean people who were so called "celebrities" on earth, just people worshiped like a celebrity, in heaven). I don't think your view of heaven is God's view, at least not according to His word, the bible.

God The Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God The Holy Spirit are one and the same: The Holy Trinity.
"Let US make man in Our image." "The Word was with God and the Word (Jesus) was God." "He who has seen me has seen the Father." "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Jesus: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." Givin' up food for funk.

I wish this was more of an inclusive space regardless of religion or no religion being practiced. Best to agree to disagree instead of fighting over God.
