She's The Worst Singer Ever!!!

I'm talking about miss queen of Mariah's thrown Ariana Grande.

Now don't get me wrong girlfriend can hold a note and can pull out a few soulful flourishes here and there, but her problem to me has always been;

What the HELL is she saying?

I've always had a hard time understanding Ms. Grande and felt that with time she'd improve but I recently just came across a new song called "Positions" and I was shocked that she's still having the same enunciation issues.

How many albums has she released?

Couldn't her producer piece together her record word for word until he came up with a version us poor listeners could understand?

I'll take the L if it's just me but take a listen to this:

You should try listening to some early Manic Street Preachers if you want to complain about enunciation. Ariane Grande is all good.

edit: even better, try the Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

Admittedly Ariana's tone and her habit of not enunciating properly have always bugged me, but there's no denying that she's a great singer.

Apollonia is the worst female singer ever...nothing wrong with ariana grande's singing...id rather hear her sing, than listen to the awful song stylings of Bob Dylan or David Bowie or Janis Joplin

I'd say there are worse singers throughout history, for instance Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder or Annie Lennox. I'd much rather listen to Ariana Grande than something old and comprehensible like a Motown record.

She is definately one of the worst I have heard! lol lol lol

I don't think there is a whole lot wrong with Ariana's singing, she sound fine to me. Never paid attention to her pronunciation though, I never listen a lot to the lyrics of songs. I listen to the music and the melodies first and foremost.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Its so fashionable to not enunciate right now. It's so irritating.

Another one is Sza.

Great records but sounds like she's singing another language.

She gets less flack (from me at least) because she's not lauded as the heir apparent of one of the vocal trinity.

I think with both SZA and Ariana, they don't enunciate well cause that fits the sultry mood of their latest work.

When Ariana sang Emotions, she knocked it out of the park. And I can understand SZA on Meghan's Freaky Girls just fine.

She's a great singer but her voice has been wasted on run of the mill pop garbage that brings her down to every one else's level.

Very much agree with this, her songs have been bland AF since forever. If only she would branch out and do something soulful and funky. She's got the voice and the looks, she just needs more interesting producers.

I can't really deal with the "acrobatic" singers who do all sorts of notes to show they can sing or have good voices but have dreadful material, it's not even about if you like the music or not or the genre whatever, it's just not interesting it's so painting by numbers and fits the mold of everyone else, sorry but I blame a lot of this on the American idol the voice era being this if you have a good voice you can be a star, this is why Spotify uploads 40,000 new tracks a day, because music is so simplistic and uninspired for so many.

I'll always say that her debut album was her best. It was the perfect balance of pop and traditional R&B, the latter genre being more tailored for her voice. Far better than the white girl rapping and that homogenous talk-sing style most prevalent in modern pop and R&B now.

You don't take someone with a voice like Ariana's just to make them sing like all the other non-singers we got on the charts. Imagine if Whitney were around now; say what you will about her AC ballads but she still SANG those songs. Different times, things change and Ariana is no Whitney or Mariah (who is more apropos for comparison) but yeah, people think those 2 especially the former were wasted at the time, just imagine how they would be handled today. On the other hand, you got Demi Lovato who while has received comparison to Whitney before, is more like a Christina Aguilera who oversings everything to the point of annoyance; no nuance, no poise, no balance, just screaming their beautiful vocals at the same volume and pitch for most of their songs. We don't want that either.
