Mariah-Dreamlover vs. Fantasy

Which Mariah lead single do you like better and why?

Both are great but I enjoy dreamlover a bit more

"Fantasy" is a stronger song. "Dreamlover" is great, though.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Fantasy was hard to get away from when it came out, it’s also great but feel I’ve heard it too much

Both songs were all over, but "Fantasy" was Mariah going a little more urban in her sound. She still leaned a bit more pop earlier on, but by the time Fantasy came along, she was putting more hip-hop beats and rappers on songs.

I also think "Fantasy" got cheapened a bit because she reused the same Tom Tom Club sample for some other damn song. But ultimately, I don't readily remember that other song, but I still remember "Fantasy."

Mariah's always had strong choruses on songs like this, and "Fantasy"'s verse melody is just as spectacular.

My all time fave M.C. song is "Make It Happen."

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Yeah one of them did it before Mariah, so seems to me she was already beginning to be inspired by hip hop

Fantasy has better background vocals and funkier drum beat thanks to Tom Tom Club.

Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Yes fantasy definitely has a funk element to it with that sample
