It's not really a song, just an instrumental piano piece.

^^^Quite obviously he's being attention seeker. I find the melody of the tune to be quite evocative of our musical hero.

It's simply a tribute to an artist he's always admired. TTD/Sananda has been consistently vocal about his love for Prince throughout his career and it is known that the pair met at least once.

As Sananda has spent the last two decades eschewing fame and releasing mostly sprawling volumes of uncommercial conceptual material, I don't think he wants Prince's level of popular success either, at least not now.

Whatever, he's a genuinely talented artist with a distinctive voice and for those reasons I find anything he's doing of interest, even if isn't always to my particular taste. And now all his new releases are available on streaming services it is neither difficult nor expensive to check them out.

Attention from who? He hasn't really had much mainstream attention since 1988. A lot of people think he's a "one hit wonder". I doubt many of the mainstream audience even know his name has changed. When I hear his songs on the radio today (mostly Wishing Well), the DJs still call him Terence Trent D'Arby. His albums on Sony still has that name on them too. I think his Greatest Hits has a sticker on it with the Sananda name. But the cover itself has Terence. Anyway, once you take off the plastic wrapping, the sticker is off. razz

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

His downfall was when he compared himself to James Brown and Prince at the same time. Shows people judge.

The Chris Rock story is hilarious. He loves TTD, played him at a party at home and people were really grooving to it. They asked who it was. When he told them they stopped dancing and pretended to hate it. It is seen as unhip to like old music.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

How come The Beatles continue to sell then?
