Ne yo as a songwriter

Let’s post his songs and songs he’s written for others. Such a good writer he was. Anyone know what he’s up to these days?

That's what he's up to now, according to his wiki page.

Ne-Yo's sixth studio album, Non-Fiction, followed in 2015. His seventh studio album, Good Man, was released on June 8, 2018. In addition to music, Ne-Yo currently serves as judge for the reality competition series World of Dance alongside Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough.

The truth is Beyonce needs to apologize the music industry and black community for making a career out of taking credit for other people's songwriting.

*

I do wonder how the black (or white) community feels about Britney Spears being a better songwriter than Beyonce Knowles...

*

Yes, she's not Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna or even Janet Jackson...

*

But Britney's better than Beyonce, and that's all we really need.

Objectively, Britney Spears is a better songwriter than Beyonce Knowles. Period.

*

There isn't even any evidence Beyonce even know how to play a musical instrument, unlike Britney Spears...

Playing an instrument or a couple instruments don't make you a good songwriter, or is Ed Sheeran a better songwriter because he plays an instrument? No. He's an okay guitarist and maybe he's one of the best at writing mostly cheesy love songs which would've all fit on his first damn album if we're being completely honest for a minute. Seriously, they mostly sound the same.

I agree. The difference here is that Beyonce is suspected of never having written a song in her career, despite plastering her name on the writing credits...

As for the hit song Britney composed, and whether it's good songwriting, all you have to do listen to Indie darling/Grammy/Oscar winner Glen Hansard's striking rendition...

"When asked if “Everytime” was an answer song to recent ex Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River,” Britney neither confirmed nor denied, saying, “I’ll let the song speak for itself.” That it did, but the piano ballad also spoke for others. Glen Hansard, still some years away from his Once breakthrough, showed this when he and Colm Maclomaire recorded their version under the Frames name. Hansard’s vocals give “Everytime” an authenticity that the press wouldn’t necessarily attribute to Britney’s breathier delivery. Do the words “I guess I need you, baby” come across as being more vulnerable when sung by a man instead of a woman? In any case, the lyrics come from Britney, and Hansard sings them with all the conviction they deserve, making for a powerful cover."

I don't understand.

*

IF people argued that Kelly Clarkson is a better songwriter than Beyonce Knowles, most probably wouldn't care.

*

But if it is argued that Britney Spears is a better songwriter than Beyonce Knowles-and she objectively is a better songwriter than Beyonce Knowles-there is outrage and immediate dissension.

*

Why?

See, there's there problem with your claim. It's only speculation that Beyonce doesn't write her songs. So without any hard evidence, you can't just go around and claim stuff like this. Also, I think we hijacked the original thread enough for now. If you want to discuss this subject you should create your own thread out of respect for the original poster.

he/she already started a thread about this, but no one was buying the nonsense...see thread title: "why did the music industry protect then project Beyonce's shortcomigs onto the rest of the music industry"...they just copy and pasted parts of their comments from that thread, into this thread for some reason...corny.
