Don't sleep on Ella Fitzgerald. Greatest jazz singer of the 20th century. Sang some of the top songs with the top groups ever. Our pop tastes may not handle her finesse. All you others say Hell Yea!!

One of the greatest singers of the 20th century regardless of genre. She helped bring the Great American Songbook and jazz together in her work. Just a magnificent voice and brilliant artist. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

You know what freaks me out about Ella? She put her name down for the Amateur Hour at the Apollo as a dancer. The half time dancing show by the Edwards Sisters was so amazing that she knew there was no way she could follow that dancing. So she sung a song instead. She won the contest and then started singing for Chick Webb because of it. Just think if she had danced instead - might have never heard one of the greatest voices of the last 100 years. Adore Ella.

My Mom had several of her albums and I used to listen to them when I was a little kid. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
