Not totally sure, but from certain comments and the attitude, I got the feeling that it's a person that has been banned here several times. It's not as obvious as ChocolateBox/KCool though. This previous person I'm talking about posted on another site at the same time. They used a different name, but made the same kind of comments. Not this golden age stuff, that's different. Something posted on the other site is really what made me think that this JC might be the same person. But it wasn't what first gave me the idea. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Hall and Oates had multiple good songs and were a staple for music in the 80's. I also enjoy watching Live from Daryl's House. Great show with many wonderful guests.

John said that he originally wrote this in a reggae style, but Daryl didn't like that idea. So they did it in a 1960s Motown style arrangement. They did have a reggae sounding (or maybe calypso) song called Soldering on the silver album You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. What's with the the capital letters? That's not even the name of the record. Only the very early printing is silver anyway. Later pressings the cover is just grey and didn't have the foil look. Why? A reggae song can be uptempo. If it hadn't been changed then you wouldn't have known a fast version anyway. Well, there still would be Part Time Lover by Stevie Wonder & the remake of You Can't Hurry Love by Phil Collins that you could have listened to. Such things remind me of us all aging - all the best music in my opinion is between 35 and 60 years old now! . Back in the 80s, we saw anything over 20 years ago as dated, now 20 years ago the music was still processed crap like Sisqo and Afroman. Take Prince - okay his newest music is just 5 years old - but his classic music is between 25 and 42 years old, that is a long time ago. . Not crazy about Hall and Oates from that era, I am more a Leo Sayer - you make me feel like dancing type dude from that era! Although I like Maneater and Private Eyes, but they are only 38 and 39 years old [Edited 2/4/21 19:11pm] I got plenty good loving for ya baby

My record collection consists of Prince, some really old 78s, a collection of 45 singles from 1957 to 1990 (Over 200) and all these albums I bought in the 80s as a kid. Back then, they were hot - now they are all dusty and barely play (Most of the audio equipment I had back then was cheap and nasty). . Stuff like Welcome to the Pleasure Dome, Kissing to be clever, Colour by Numbers, Be Yourself Tonight (Kudos if you know the artists), Revenge, Actually, Please, Into the Gap and Breakout hits 87 - was just cutting edge and now I look at it - its all 35 - 40 years ago! . People I honestly think your life hits the fast forward switch once you get to 40. . I just realise with those albums, it is bizarre how I did not pick up I was gay a lot earlier than I came out (At 21). I mean I had 4 Grace Jones albums and several Madonna ones (Stolen, I manage to replace the Grace ones, except Portfolio). [Edited 2/4/21 19:16pm] I got plenty good loving for ya baby

I'm actually also surprised that H&O's forst album is from 1972. Pretty wild. Are they in the RRHF? If not, they should be.
