Who was everyone's favourite music guest on Arsenio Hall (89-94)? Unfortunately us British folks didn't have this show in the UK... But thanks to YouTube lol, I saw some of it... But obviously is not the same as watching it in real time. But I'd say Prince 1991. What about you folks?

Too many to name. I was not a fan of Arsenio but always watched for the musical guests. His show provided an outlet for artists, particularly veteran R&B artists, who were not being invited to perform on the other late night shows. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! What was it like back the in the US when his show was huge? It was never shown in the UK sadly. Was it as good as everyone says it was?

Prince on Arsenio Hall was awesome. What a great memory. I've always liked Arsenio and when his show was on he introduced me to some artists I may not have otherwise gotten to know.

The ones that still stand out in my memory are Troop ("Spread My Wings"), MC Hammer ("Intro/Medley/Turn This Mutha"), Ralph Tresvant/Bobby Brown ("Stone Cold Gentleman"), and Prince '91.

Definitely P in 91...but I also enjoyed George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, James Brown, Cameo, MeShell, Isley Bros and even KISS..(yes, KISS). Ernie Isley sitting in with the band was cool too.....His show for r&b and hip hop musical guests was great...and also because Carson wasn't going to have them on his show either.

James Brown was also on his show? Bare in mind I'm from Britain so his show wasn't shown here. But I'll check it out

Yes...If I recall, James Brown was his musical guest in 93 or 94. I think he did the whole show.

So why did his show get cancelled?

From what I've read, low ratings and (supposedly) some backlash when he had Minister Farrakhan as a guest.

As for musical moments, I can't remember a lot of them that stood out to me other than Prince, The Time, Martha Wash, Parliament, Lenny Kravitz, and Marlon Jackson. . The best were the couch moments with Madonna and Rosie O'Donald. Patti LaBelle talking about going over to Prince's house. Eddie Murphy and Arsenio together ganging up on Little Richard thinking they were going to embarass and bust out Little Richard and instead, Little Richard embarassed and shut them up. LaWanda Page telling Arsenio "Motherfucker, I get paid to be ugly, what's your excuse". :evilloll: Andy is a four letter word.

I remember being kinda happy that Arsenio invited Rob & Fab to perform after long putting down Milli Vanilli You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
