TLC-waterfalls vs. no scrubs

Which number 1 hit of theirs do you like better and why? I feel waterfalls kind of sounds like a prince song, but no scrubs is my favourite

While I love "No Scrubs," and Left Eye's rap in it, I do think "Waterfalls" is a stronger song.

It's catchy in the chorus. The verses talk about social issues (from HIV to drug dealing and death), from which TLC never cowered. The subtle but memorable drum track, the wah-wah-inspired little lead line (is that a guitar?), T-Boz and Chili's volleying the vocals back and forth. Left Eye's rap is on it is the epitaph on her tombstone!

"eye don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

I liked both, but No Scrubs was my favorite. I especially liked how the song made guys who probably were scrubs so angry, because why else would they get so mad? lol

"Water Falls". A loney mother gazing out of her window staring at her son that she just can't touch... And all the praying just ain't helping at all because he
can't seem to keep himself out of trouble"

That is a result of kids growing up without a father, older brother, uncle or grand-father around!

I always thought it was so strange that the "radio version" of Waterfalls often does not feature Left Eye's rap, while the "album version" of No Scrubs does not feature Left Eye's rap.

They are both overplayed now lol but "Waterfalls" sounds like more of a classic to me.

How would everyone rank their albums from best to worst?

I've noticed everything is a battle with you, this vs that, who's better, who's worse, top 10 this, rate that. There's room for everyone and everything, if you think about it.

As far as TLC albums, since you insist, from top to bottom for me:

CrazySexyCool

Fanmail

Ooooooohhh On the TLC Tip (it's a close call with Fanmail)

3D

TLC

Please tell me you don't call your ex's and ask how they rate you? hahaha razz

I debated between Oooh and Fan. But the mid-portion of Fanmail really nailed it for me.

"Waterfalls" is a much better written song.

Waterfalls by a mile- timeless song and production. The Kevin Briggs production on No Scrubs instantly dates it to 1999/2000. See Destinys Child-Bills Bills Bills, Bug a Boo, Pink- There You Go for other examples of that sound!.

I would rank them the order they were released, with diminished returns. I might like their last album more than 3-D though.

Who digs out CD A LaFace Family Christmas every year to hear TLC's "Sleigh Ride" and "All I Want For Christmas"?

I think it would be hilarious to have a real harpsichord on stage to hear these songs MTV Unplugged.

TLC was great. Much better than Destiny's Child IMO.

There is no destinys child without tlc lol but it’s amazing that out of all the girl groups in the 90s, those who went solo didn’t go very far and Beyoncé did, probably cause of her age being a privlege, cause if it was about talent, the others could have gone solo successfully

This reminds me of a Chilli quote in the mid 2000s that was quite controversial on the now defunct CyberTLC forums: “Destiny’s Child sold 10 million working their butts off. We sold 9 million doing nothing.”

Meh, both songs were decent... I wouldn't go far as calling them classics though.
