Jam & Lews featuring Babyface

Mega producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis have just inked a deal with BMG and in preping their debut album, the first official single was released today and it features another mega producer, Babyface.

The song, "He Don't Know Nothin' Bout It" is a slow jam with very nice vocals from 'Face.

The album, JAM & LEWIS, VOL. 1 set for an early 2021 release, A music video is dropping next week.

The song was premiered by D-Nice on Instagram around Midnight eastern time, and the single had its worldwide debut on iHeart Radio earlier today. At last look it was in the Top 10 of iTunes sales today.

Some nicer, slightly less predictable bits during the latter part of the song. Otherwise, sounds like by-the-book Babyface to me. That is to say...OK.

Agree, only good Babyface is The Deels Deele. there, fixed it.

don't necessarily agree, there's a place for Face's music. to each his own.

It doesn't sound bad. The last time I really listen to Face is The Day album. This sounds less like a Jam&Lewis production and more like just Babyface but back in the day.

It's close. I liked Tender Lover and Cool in You albums. That Whip Appeal was my Jam tho.

I'll put here what I put on Facebook, including the GIF.

Babyface is talented as a producer, but you sorta know what you're getting when he fronts a song. And while I love Jam & Lewis, and their ability to develop any artist's sound and help that artist mature or highlight their natural talent, this song is about 30 years too late. It's classic Babyface, but classic means old. It sounds dated. Not a terrible song, it just sounds like an outtake from Tender Lover or should've been on a Toni Braxton album.

Babyface is great, both as an artist and songwriter. Tevin Campbell? Boys II Men? Braxton? MJ? Jermaine? Whitney? Shanice? Luther?

He’s had a ton of truly great songs. You people are on THE CRACK, lol.

Big fan of both, but the song is just ok. I sort of hear a Toni Braxton vibe as well, her background vocals would have worked better for the song

I submitted some r&b ballads I wrote and recorded to flyte tyme, does anyone have a connection to them so I could follow up?

Here's the music video

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
