What are you guys and gals grateful for musically? For me, simply to have lived through the golden ages of music of the 60s-80s and meeting Donna Summer š. although I wish I witnessed Elvis in his prime the 50s
But I'm happy overall. What about you? [Edited 12/26/20 1:34am] |

Being able to have seen so many artists live. Like James Brown, Isaac Hayes and so many others who are no longer with us or who retired, like George Clinton. If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am. |

He's like a record stuck in one groove for the rest of his life. It's just so old at this point. Same story - doesn't like anything past the 80s, thinks music died in 1990, blah blah blah. Top this, biggest that. We can all write it in our sleep at this point.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

I mean music significantly died around the early 90s. Hasn't recovered since and never will. I'll keep repeating it. |

People kept repeating that Janet & Michael were the same person, or that there was a second shooter on the grassy knoll - didn't make either one anymore truthful or substantiated.

Haha! I remember that rumour... But the only difference is that Michael was actually talented... Janet... Not so much |

Janet doesnāt have michaels talent, but sheās still talented in her own way and an underrated artist. Iāve seen her in concert multiple times and met her twice, grateful for that [Edited 12/29/20 20:56pm] |

I mean, MJ is sort of his own enigma. Comparisons are as unfair as ones to Prince.
I saw Janet on the Up Close & Personal Tour at Radio City Music Hall. There's video (WHICH THE WORLD SHALL NEVER SEE) of me bawling my eyes out during "Together Again." I was just so overwhelmed finally seeing her live. A pack of lipstick lesbians stopped me after the show, in the lobby, and noted, "Oh my god, you were doing all the dance moves." We had a mini-kiki right there. Note at a then age of 43, I was doing only from the waist up moves. But I nailed that shit in the third fucking balcony! haha She sang her ass off.

I agree comparisons are not necessary. Aw sounds like you had a great experience, I went to two shows for that tour, and on the second one, she kept the leather outfit on instead of changing into a pink dress |

People in music, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park and Whitney Houston. What they brought to the table musically.
I mean, I'm grateful for instruments and genres I love.
But these singers were, in my opinion, once in a lifetime talents. "We're not hitchhiking anymore!....we're riding!!" |

I think at some point, they mostly wore the jeans and tank top outfit for the course of the show. I'm not sure why. I feel like she did something similar on the shortened Rock Withcu Tour. That one always seemed... off, weird, different. Not sure why. No one much talks about it. But anyhoo - I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.
