Who was bigger at their peak. Janet Jackson or Madonna?

I'm not a fan of both but I've noticed a lot of org members are so this is a good question for them and I'm actually curious as well.

Madonna is truly global, plus she has the two highest grossing tours by a female artist. Janet was bigger domestically from 1991 - 1997. Erotica bombed and Bedtime Stories had a couple hits but was soft in comparison to the janet. Era.

Yes I enjoy Janet’s peak albums in full while Madonna always had some filler though great songs too. And I prefer Janet onstage over Madonna though I think the virgin tour is her best one!
