Career decade preference for Donna Summer! If you point a gun to my head and ask me who is my favourite artist of all time. Well... Donna Summer is the one. Brilliant vocalist, writer, a definition of a game changer with hits like Love To Love You Baby, I Feel Love She Work's Hard For The Money etc etc, saw her live in the 70s and have met her and she was the nicest person I've met. So many classic albums as well from 75-89.

Maybe Diana Ross felt that way about her back in the 70's. Diana had been on the block for sometime and all of the sudden, this new sexy, sultry singer (with a powerful voice) comes along and becomes a hit (and competition).....Marvin Gaye kind of felt the same way about Teddy Pendergrass and our man P.........Also ironic how Diana dated Gene Simmons (of KISS) and Donna sang background vocals ("Burning Up With Fever") on his 1978 solo album. | |

Since this thread is still active I want to ask Donna Summer fans this question. What in the giant fuck happened to her career throughout the 90s-00s? Musically she was pretty much gone, Mistaken Identity was a massive flop, Crayons did okay but throughout the 70s - 80s (80-84 to be exact) she was amazing and huge. After Another Time and Place (her last high profile moment) throughout the 90s and onwards she was gone and then I'm reading new information about how she wanted to do this Ordinary Broadway Girl story about her life throughout the mid to late 90s but never happened, and then I recently found out she was suppose to release this album called "Angel" in 2000 or 2003 I believe but never happened. Recently I've been reading old magazine interviews related to Donna summer and she always told them "Well we're working on a new album" blah blah blah she always kept saying this for many years but it never happened. So my question is... What happened throughout the 90s and 00s? | |
