My fav eras is from 1956-58 and 1968. I loved 1956-58 because his sound, his style was raw and his hair was on point. Plus, I loved the films he did during that time especially Jailhouse Rock (1957) and King Creole (1958).

After that it the 60s was hit and miss and you could tell by Clambake (1967) that he has lost his way because the films he did were not challenging and he was bored!. However, when he did the awesome 68 Combeack Special he turned it around and reminded everyone how aweome he was as a live performer . Eg. I love the 1960's Elvis and I enjoy his corny movies too.

Love Elvis, such a sexy, soulful guy. I liked the 60's, though in retrospect. As a young woman I thought he was weird.

God, that voice, plus he was so beautiful.

Early Elvis...but man that 70s comeback special blew me away on TV when I was a kid... Sat open-mouthed on the floor the whole time...

Definitely the 1950s rock and roll stuff. Then it would a little of the stuff from the 1970s such as "Burnin' Love", "I Got A Feelin' My Body, C. C. Rider, etc.

Oh man, "Suspicious minds", "The wonder of you", "In the ghetto", "Burning love", "Kentucky rain", "You don't have to say you love me", "Always on my mind", "American trilogy"... I know, some barely scratch the 70s, but some great stuff there.

He would close his eyes and feel the words.

Most great singers/musicians talk about the 'flow', the connection to something greater, the 'channel', etc. Elvis and Prince went 'there', Santana, too.
